Line from a Yes song. Of course, it is a singular thing to keep backsliding on a major priority for years such as good diet , health & exercise even when diagnosed with diabetes in one's 30's (Still) and on oral meds. I guess it is like Aristotle's Nichomachean Ethics with virtues repeated good habits and vices repeated bad ones and Grace builds on nature in this life and leads to Glory in the next. Thank you Jesus for the good habits. Our Lady will help me multiply those and lessen the bad ones.
Today is now 1/19/07, a few days ago was Jan. 15--10 years since my friend Dodi Reagan in Legion of Mary was killed at the age of 39 or 40, the former now being about my age. I was in MN teaching for a semester at the time. She was very good with kids in the Jr. LOM and sharp and attentive to where they were and what they were upto. She was always very smart and together. She was also active in the Choir and the womens council besides adult & Jr. Legion of Mary at St. John's in McLean. She was the Pres. of the 1st group I joined and everyone were very committed to the Faith & had something I wanted, seeking to be devout and holy. She and I went on Home visits once together and prayed a Rosary as we walked but I was getting tired so she declined a 2nd saying that was 3 for her that day. I was reminded later she was nervous around some animals and I wonder if I noticed that when we went out or not. I heard she had a very well attended funeral with a packed Church and many priests con-celebrating. I was in a strange State for me and being challenged in many ways beyond my natural abilities but I have been helped by her prayers I believe as have others and I have manager to stick with the LOM thru some trials. "To whom Lord should we go?" (St. Peter) Thanks Dodi for your prayers and kindness--See you in the valley of Jehosaphat.
